Do you remember how & when you first started surfing?
I was 14 but previously had been a bodyboarder and a gymnast so even though I started later than a lot of other surfers I had good balance from gymnastics and wave knowledge from bodyboarding so picked it up pretty fast. I learnt to surf on my brothers 6.0, pretty thin surf board. It wasn't the big steady thick boards you can learn on these days.
At what stage did you decide to make surfing your profession?
When I started winning competitions and got accepted to represent my country at the Junior Worlds.
What is your proudest moment to date?
Winning the open Women's Nationals this year.
What is your biggest goal?
To finish my remedial massage course I have just started and to continue to improve my surfing and do my personal best in all my competitions I enter.
Where is your favourite place in the world to surf?
So far it is Bali.
What sort of training do you have to do?
I try to do Cardio workouts using the interval techniques running or biking. Do swiss ball and med ball workouts.
What does a typical day in the life of Angie involve?
I've been a student for the last year and a half so surfing, study, uni, surfing!
What inspires you?
People who are passionate about what they do, and make sacrifices to achieve their dreams.
What is your favourite Maxum Watch?
I love the ladies Core styles like Vesta & Vegas as you can still wear them in the water yet they also look like you are wearing a bracelet. I also love any black watches.
